LENEXA — A burial fund has been established for a 23-year-old Ottawa man who was killed last week after a car struck him while he was walking along I-35 in Johnson County. A former cook in Ottawa, Kevin Polidore had just been hired by General Motors but had little money when he was killed, his family said. A member of Polidore’s family said the driver’s insurance company is contesting the family’s claim in the death. After the coroner released it, Polidore’s body was taken to a nearby funeral home in Lenexa because his family couldn’t afford to ship it to an Ottawa local funeral home. The burial fund has been established with Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS, 66215.
