KANSAS CITY — As economic and financial news continues to be less than inspiring, a University of Missouri-Kansas City economics professor says things won’t improve until regulators start tossing the managers of big banks and Wall Street firms into jail.
William Black specialized in prosecuting top officers of failed savings and loan institutions. As a result of the S&L fraud scandals, hundreds of officers served time. However, in the wake of the most financial collapse, federal regulators have made no arrests and financiers are even more brazen, he said. Black will discuss the political and financial corruption he said is rife during this Sunday morning’s program of Community Perspective at 8:04. He is the author of the book “The Best Way to Rob a Bank is to Own One.”
