GARNETT — The Garnett Square Fair will celebrate its 40th anniversary Saturday from 8:30 to 4. In addition to the craft and food vendors on the courthouse lawn, the Pieces and Patches Quilt Show will be on the north side of the square, the fire department ladies auxiliary will serve biscuits and gravy and the Garnett VFW will serve breakfast, and the Harris House and Santa Fe Depot will offer tours. New for this year’s Square Fair is the appraisal fair at the Garnett Town Hall Center featuring “National Treasures” TV show personality Jason Roske among the appraisers. Items can appraised at $5 per item or three for $10. Proceeds will go to the Walker Art Committee’s scholarship fund and for continued conservation of the Walker Art Collection. The American Legion Post 48 motorcycle group is holding “:Wash for the War Memorial” on the east side of the square Sautrday afternoon from 1 to 6. That includes bike detailing barbecue and live music.
