OTTAWA — A 19-year-old Osawatomie man was booked into the Franklin County jail early this morning for threatening another man. Deputy Jarrod Fredricks said Kalven Hesse was picked up by Osawatomie police and hauled to John Brown and Vermont roads, where he was taken by Franklin County deputies to jail. Hesse went to Rantoul to talk to his children’s mother this weekend even though she had obtained a protection order against him, Fredricks said. She wasn’t there but her new boyfriend was and the two men got into an argument, Fredricks said. Hesse grabbed a tire iron and threatened the other man during the argument, he said.
