OTTAWA — Plastic burns. That’s why the Ottawa Fire Department was called to a fire at a house in the 800 block of South Ash Wednesday afternoon. Fire Chief Jeff Carner said a plastic receptacle was being used as an ash tray on a wooden deck outside the house caught fire. Someone spotted the fire and quickly put out the fire, Carner said. The wooden deck sustained an estimated $100 worth of damage, he said.
