OTTAWA – Franklin County Emergency Temporary Shelter Association said a house that will become a transitional temporary housing unit is undergoing repairs and should be ready soon. FRETSA chair Kristina Zhilkina says the house will be used to help homeless families return to the workplace. A coalition of comprised of FRETSA, the First United Methodist Church Foundation, Hope House and ECKAN will work together to provide a  homeless family a short-term stable living environment while they help the family find work and move toward becoming self-sufficient, she said. ECKAN and Hope House will screen applicants and help oversee the family temporarily living in the house and offer assistance in job search and other areas, she said. Families would be helped for a two- to three-month period.
