HAYS — Molten iron as performance art is the star of the Western Cast Iron Art Conference at Fort Hays State through Saturday. Artists will use three furnaces to create molten iron to be poured into a variety of things including a reconstructed tree and a house made of ears of corn. The free conference is open to the public and they can take part in workshops and presentations as well as watch events. For a complete list of panels and performances visit the Web site www.wciaa.org.
