OTTAWA – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating three burglaries reported over the last two days. A 40-year-old Osawatomie woman reported that she was taking care of animals for her brother who lives in the Rantoul area, and found the back door to his house in the 2000 block of Virginia Road was open Tuesday night. Several items were stolen including three game systems, two laptops, a pistol, and a passport. The loss was estimated at $3450. A 41-year-old man accused another man of stealing several collectable items from his home in the 3300 block of Indiana Road east of Richter Tuesday night. There was no estimate of the loss. A 93-year-old Rantoul man reported guns and other items were taken from his house in the 4000 block of Rock Creek Road Wednesday evening. The loss was estimated at $1200.
