WASHINGTON — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has given its blessing to use grain sorghum for ethanol. According to its studies, the EPA says when grain sorghum is used to make ethanol, it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 32 percent to 53 percent depending on the process. The National Sorghum Producers said the EPA’s ruling will give a powerful boost to use grain sorghum to produce advanced biofuels.
