GARNETT — The Garnett Lunch Bunch summer nutrition program returns for the month of June, beginning Monday. The program will be each Monday from noon to 2 p.m. in June at the Garnett Senior Center. The program is for students in grades 4 through 12. Students will eat and meet with senior citizens for lunch and do other activities. The students eat for free. However, the students who eat lunch must register with the East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging by Monday. Call 800-633-5621 or e-mail to [email protected]. The Anderson County Review reports that the program offers adequate nutrition to school children at a time when school lunches aren’t available and also gives students a change to interact with senior citizens.
