OTTAWA – The Elizabeth Layton Center will apply for a four-year $1.6 million federal grant to coordinate its mental health services. Layton executive director Diane Drake sought, and received, a letter from the Franklin County Commission this week endorsing the grant application. The federal government is funding efforts that combine several services including drug and alcohol addiction treatments, mental health therapy and social counseling into “one stop” mental health services, she said. The grant is highly competitive and the Layton Center is applying in conjunction with other agencies.
