LANE – Steven Blurton, 45, Parker; lost his pickup but gained the attention of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department. The sheriff’s office says Blurton was driving north on Vermont Road near Lane Tuesday looking for a place to turn around. He turned onto a crossing over the Union Pacific tracks but his truck high-centered. Before he could free his pickup, a train came down the tracks, hitting and destroying his pickup. Blurton, who was out of the truck and trying to wave down the train, wasn’t injured. The sheriff’s office said it is investigating tresspassing, illegal tags and no vehicle insurance in connection with the incident.
