BALDWIN CITY — A new law signed by Gov. Sam Brownback Friday allows dinner railway cars to obtain a liquor license. The bill got its start because the Midland Railway requested the bill to entice a Nebraska dinner train business to move to Baldwin City, said Rep. Terri-Lois Gregory of Baldwin City, who sponsored the bill. The new law will be a economic high ball, bringing an estimated 9,000 to 10,000 visitors to the area, she said. Many of those people will stay in the area, eating at other restaurants and visiting historic sites and museum, she said.
