TOPEKA — Among the political mysteries in Topeka these days is the question when three federal judges will finish redrawing state legislative and board of education districts. Technically, the deadline to file for state offices but County Clerk Shari Perry said because the redistricting isn’t done, that, and the day of the primary election is up in the air. Perry said she had heard the maps would be drawn by June 4, but as of today, she’s heard nothing. “Your guess is as good as mine,” she said. Redistricting was thrown to the federal judges because the legislature failed to redraw districts because a nasty split between Republican conservatives and moderates.
