OTTAWA — The first Ottawa Suzuki Strings Sound Encounters concert is Friday night at 7 at the Carnegie Cultural Center. Kristi Knecht is an Ottawa Suzuki Strings instructor, who was killed in a bicycle accident, who is being memorialized by Friday night’s concert, said Suzuki Strings’ Alice Joy Lewis. Boston cellist Denise Djokic, accompanied by pianist Junko Ueno Garrett, will perform for the free concert. Violinist and Ottawa native Brian Lewis, accompanied by pianist Laura Kennedy, will perform Sunday night at 7 at the Carnegie. That concert is also free.
