Ottawa, KS – The Ottawa Police Department has a new captain on the job. Though the title may be new, the face is familiar. Captain Weingartner, formerly Lieutenant, has been promoted. Weingartner is a 16-year police veteran, and has spent the last three years as Patrol Lieutenant, with the former three as Patrol Sergeant. Captain Weingartner will continue to command the patrol division and oversee the daily activities of all patrol personnel.
