GARNETT — A recent town hall meeting looked at the health needs of Anderson County. The Anderson County Review reported that a community survey shows that most county residents rate the overall quality of health care in the community as good or very good. The survey says most people are satisfied with the Anderson County ambulance service, local pharmacies, nursing homes, and primary medical care. The survey notes that the number of patients seen per primary care physician in Anderson County is more than double the Kansas average. However, the survey shows dissatisfaction with mental health services. The Anderson County Hospital, the Southeast Kansas Multi-County Health Department and other health care agencies will use the results to create action plans to address the needs identified in the survey and town hall meeting.
