GARNETT — Anderson County Attorney Fred Campbell caught the thieves red-handed. Or is that red-pawed? The Anderson County Review reported that Campbell recently trapped three baby red foxes in three consecutive nights after his geese started disappearing despite his best efforts to protect them. Campbell, who lives in Garnett, borrowed traps from the city of Garnett and captured three live baby foxes, but he told the Review that the adult fox likely to be the goose grabber remains on the loose. The young foxes were turned over to the city animal control officer. With the adult fox still about, Campbell said he doesn’t know if he’ll get more geese. “They’re very expensive fox food,” he said.
