TOPEKA — Killough Construction, Ottawa, received a contract from the Kansas Department of Transportation to pave a half-mile of a Douglas County road in the latest batch of bid awards. Killough will receive more than $262,000 to grade and pave a half-mile of road about 12 miles north of the Franklin County line. KDOT also gave a $1.2 million contract to Capital Electric Line Builders, Riverside, Mo., to build 14 miles of what is called an “intelligent transportation system” in Johnson County between I-35 and the intermodal center at Edgerton. KDOT also gave a $1.7 million contract to Comanche Construction, Shawnee Mission, to repair I-435 bridges just north of Renner Road in Johnson County.
