The Ottawa Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department have broken a series of residential burglaries in and around Ottawa. Charity Schultz, 33, of Ottawa, and Robert Brady, 18, of Ottawa, were booked into the Franklin County Jail on suspicion of burglary and theft. Captain Adam Weingartner says a homeowner living in the 1200 block of East 7th Street, just outside the city limits called 911 to say someone was breaking into their home yesterday afternoon. Weingartner says Ottawa officers and Franklin County deputies both raced to the residence. He says the homeowner got a vehicle tag number; officers traced it and grabbed two suspects. Weingartner says officers used a search warrant to search an Ottawa home. He says they recovered several items that had been reported as stolen.
