HIAWATHA- The Amber Alert issued yesterday afternoon was called off at 8:00 last night. Jenna Hord and Logan Burris, 17, were located safe in Hiawatha by the Brown County Sheriff’s Sffice. Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says the couple cooperated and no weapon was found. The Kansas City Star reports Hord had last been seen Wednesday evening when Leavenworth Police were called regarding a disturbance between the two at a convenience store. Allegedly, Burris pushed Hord into the car. KAKE reports authorities say they’ve had some run –ins with Burris before, and issued the alert after reports that he had been spotted with a handgun earlier in the day. The police were afraid Burris would head for Missouri or Illinois. The Star reports Hord told a friend she was okay, but didn’t want to tell anyone of her whereabouts.
