WILLIAMSBURG — A 62-year-old Williamsburg man was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after he was burned while trying to put out a farm fire. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said Larry Baker was baling hay in the 300 block of Alabama Road in the extreme southwest corner of the county when the baler he was using caught fire. The sheriff’s office said the fire spread to the tractor, which was destroyed, and to the hay, some of which was also lost. Baker’s wife rushed him to the hospital, the sheriff’s office said. There was no immediate estimate of the loss and no immediate report of the extent of Baker’s injuries or condition.
