OTTAWA — Voter registration books closed Tuesday and advanced voting began this morning for the Aug. 7 primary. The public can see sample ballots on the county Web site under the clerk/election tab at www.franklincoks., said County Clerk Shari Perry. Because of some significant local races that will be decided during the Republican primary because there are no Democrats filed, Perry said that her office has been busy with the registration books this summer. About 250 people either declared their part affiliations or switched from Democrat to GOP so they can vote in those primaries, she said. Perry said she’ll also have advanced voting days on the Saturdays of July 28 and Aug. 4.
