LAWRENCE — Lawrence police responded to bomb threats directed at two Lawrence Wal-Mart stores early Sunday morning The Lawrence Journal-World reported police found the threats were false. A similar false threat was made toward a Wal-Mart in Leavenworth Sunday morning. Previously, Wal-Marts in eight Missouri cities and one in Claremore, Okla., were targeted by fake bomb threats last week. ABC News consultant and former FBI agent Brad Garrett said there’s no direct evidence but the threats could be connected, especially most of the threats against the Missouri stores were made at about the same time Friday night. If they were connected, they could be someone who has a beef with Wal-Mart, he said.
