OTTAWA – One person watching this week’s London Olympics with particular interest, Kearsten Peoples. Peoples, an Ottawa High School graduate and track and field start, and Missouri University shot-putter, missed this year’s Olympics by five to six inches at the U.S. Olympic trials. Although she said she’s sad she barely missed being in the Olympics, she’s also glad, noting many track athletes her age are often too nervous to compete well at the Olympics. Peoples said she’ll use the time to prepare for the 2016 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
