OTTAWA — A car plowed into the Casey’s General Store on West Seventh Street Saturday night. “I just heard someone yelling, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa,’ and they came through the wall,” said store employee J.J. Hernandez, who was working at the store when the vehicle blasted into the store. “I guess the guy was looking at something on her car and she gassed it and she came up over the curb.” When the person hollered, Hernandez said he was able to duck out the way. He said that’s the only time he’s had a vehicle come through the wall. No one was injured. “Thank God for that,” he said. A 34-year Ottawa woman thought the vehicle was in park and accelerated and the vehicle drove forward, hitting the front of the store causing extensive damage, Capt. Adam Weingartner said. There was no immediate estimate of damage.
