OTTAWA — Lake Region RC&D will host a public hearing 5:30 p.m.Thursday about water quality along the Marais des Cygnes River and its tributaries in Franklin and Anderson counties. Lake Region president Don Stottlemire said a variety of experts will unveil a long-running study on water pollution in the middle Marais des Cygnes watershed and the hearing will be used to help draft a plan to deal with problems, including dissolved oxygen levels in on streams in Anderson County and north the bacteria load in the river and Franklin County streams. The meeting will be at the Franklin County aAnnex. A free meal will be served and reservations are requested by calling the Lake Region office at 242-2073.
