TOPEKA — A 59-year-old Osage City trucker was seriously injured in a freak accident in Topeka Wednesday evening. Douglas Clopton was driving a semi-truck south on U.S. 75 near the 57th Street interchange when a gust of wind flipped his truck over on its side, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. The truck slid, striking an SUV that was parked on the shoulder. The parked SUV was driven by Carla Woolery, 42, Baldwin City. An ambulance took Clopton to Stormont Vail Healthcare in Topeka. He was wearing a seat belt, troopers said. Woolery and her two children, who were passengers in her SUV, weren’t injured. They were also wearing seat belts.
