OTTAWA – KOFO’s owner and general manager Brad Howard was back behind the microphone today after he was hit while bicycling Thursday evening. Howard was riding his bike home in an east bound lane on K-68 when a hit-and-driver in a pickup struck him from behind and fled from the scene. He was dragged about 25 yards and suffered minor injuries. Howard said he believes his head hit the hood and he credits his bicycle helmet with saving his life or sparing him more serious injury. He released from Ransom Memorial Hospital this weekend. Witnesses said the truck could be either white or brown, a late 90s/early 2000s model, and possibly a Chevy. Ottawa Police Captain Adam Weingartner says there might be damage to a front headlight or above the guard. If you have any information, please contact the Ottawa Police Department 785-242-2561.
