GARNETT — Garnett’s city commission is considering a proposal to expand the commission from three members to five. Commissioners Preston Peine and Dan Morgan have expressed some support for the idea. However, Mayor Greg Gwin said he’s opposed to expanding the size of the commission. The Anderson County Review reports the plan would cost about $14,000 more each year, which would go for salaries for two more commissioners as well as some training programs. Commissioners have made no decision on the proposal but say if they proceed, they would likely place the measure on the November ballot.
