OTTAWA — A Winchester, Va.,-based plastics manufacturing company will move into the vacant Kennel-Aire plant in the Davis Road Industrial Park. Monoflo International makes pallets, totes, crates, and containers used in the warehouse to retail distribution network.  The industry is expected to create 60-65 jobs, said Blaine Finch, Franklin County Development Council interim executive director.  Monoflo’s new Ottawa plant will allow the company more space to expand operations and offer better service to customers, company president Henning Rader said. The company’s Web site says it presently has manufacturing plants in Virginia and Nevada. “We are very pleased to be a part of the Franklin County community and look forward to working with the great people in the area for years to come,” Rader said. The company plans to have full operations at Ottawa by Dec. 1, he said. Monoflo says its customers include Ford Motor Company, John Deere, Home Depot, Lowe’s, CVS, Aldi’s and Costco. Monoflo’s decision to come to Franklin County was the result of “a great deal of hard work on the part of staff from the Development Council and City of Ottawa,” Franklin County Development Council president David Lee said. “These things do not just happen.” “ They were very responsive in answering our questions and in assisting us in every step of the process,” said Christian LeMaster, Monoflo chief financial officer. “Their expertise and knowledge of the programs available to the Company played a key role in our decision to locate our facility in Ottawa and Franklin County.” Ottawa Mayor Blake Jorgensen said he’s extremely pleased that Monoflo is coming to the community. “From every indication it will be a good fit and long term beneficial relationship for all parties involved,” he said.
