MOUND CITY — Two Mound City residents were injured when their car hit a horse on K-52 just east of Mound City early Saturday morning. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Mia Self, 44, was driving west on K-52 when her car struck a horse standing on the highway. Her car crossed the center line, entered the south ditch, struck a fence and came to rest in a pasture. She was taken by helicopter to Overland Park Regional Hospital. A passenger in her car, Taylor Self-Larson, 15, Mound City; also received injuries but according to the highway patrol, wasn’t hospitalized. Another passenger wasn’t injured.
