TOPEKA – A 43-year-old Lyndon man has been charged in federal court in Topeka with scheming to steal more than $2 million in Medicaid funds. Jason Sellers was chief financial officer of the Topeka-based nonprofit corporation Kansas Health Solutions. U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Sellers has been charged with one count of wire fraud. Sellers is accused of diverting Medicaid funds to a shell company he created called Advanced Business Consulting, Grissom said. Sellers is accused of billing Kansas Health Solutions for information technology services performed by the sham business. Grissom said he is also accused of billing Kansas Health Solutions for sports equipment and uniforms for sports teams with which he associated, as well as computer equipment for the local school, for himself and for his family. Sellers was involved with several Topeka area sports teams, including coaching youth basketball, baseball and softball. Grissom said he also used some of the money to build and furnish a $375,000  house on 11 acres at Lyndon.
