OTTAWA — Ottawa banker and former dairy owner John Coen has been named the new president of the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce. He will become the successor to Tom Weigand sometime in September. Although the economy remains a challenge for the Ottawa area, Coen said he’s ready to represent Ottawa and Franklin County. “I’ve never had any problem selling Ottawa and now I’m going to get paid for doing it,” Coen said. “It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity.” Coen is a vice president at the Kansas State Bank.
