TOPEKA — The Kansas Department of Transportation said the repaving project on I-70 west of Topeka will be halted this weekend. KDOT said it’s expecting extremely heavy traffic on I-70 because of Labor Day and because of the Kansas Sstate football game in Manhattan. All lanes of westbound I-70 between Valencia Road and K-30 near Maple Hill in Wabaunsee County will be reopened. KDOT said construction will resume early next Tuesday and go around the clock until work is competed approximately Sept. 14.
