OTTAWA – There was some good news this week on the health of Kansas kids. A new study shows that a few more Kansas kids are covered by health insurance this year. But the bad news, Shannon Cotsoradis of Kansas Action for Children says there weren’t a lot of them with health insurance the year before, ranking Kansas 30th for the number of kids who have health insurance. The number of Kansas children who are living in poverty has also been trending upwards, she said. Cotsoradis will discuss those and other trends detailed by the 2012 Kids Count Data book on this Sunday morning’s Community Perspective at 8:04.
