OTTAWA – Ottawa police set up a check-lane Wednesday night near the site of an Aug. 9 hit-and run accident that injured KOFO general manager Brad Howard. Officers passed out 350 flyers describing the accident and vehicle on East Logan Street at North Sycamore, Chief Dennis Butler said. Witnesses described the vehicle as a dirty white or tan extended-cab chevrolet Z71 or GMC Sierra. Police said the truck probably sustained damage to the grille, hood, headlight and bug shield. The pickup fled east on Logan after the accident. Howard was briefly hospitalized.
