OTTAWA – A rural Baldwin City woman asked Franklin County commissioners for an exemption from one county road policy Wednesday. Jessie Flory, who lives in the 4800 block of Ohio Road, said because the county has resurfaced Ohio Road several times over the years, the road is now higher than the asphalt apron of her driveway. “It’s about like driving over a curb,” she told commissioners. The county’s policy is that people should fix their own driveway problems, but Flory said since the situation is a result of the county’s actions, it should be up to the county to fix it, not her.
