AUGUSTA — An Anderson County native has gotten his motor running and headed out on the highway. Kelly Modlin, Augusta, is riding his antique 1929 Harley-Davidson Police Edition motorcycle in this year’s Motorcycle Cannonball Run across the country, the Anderson County Review reported. Seventy-seven pre-1930 antique motorcycles started from Newburgh, N.Y., Sept. 7 for the 17-day journey to San Francisco. Modlin and his brother Ronnie Modlin spent most of this summer rebuilding the motorcycle in preparation for the nearly 4,000-miles of heavy metal thunder.
