CENTROPOLIS — A 49-year-old Ottawa man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident in the 4300 block of Iowa Road southeast of Centropolis. James Richey was a passenger in an SUV when the driver, Eric Davis, 25, Ottawa, lost control of it, Franklin County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jarrod Fredricks said. The SUV went off the east side of the road, rolled and hit at least three trees, he said. Ritchie was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. Davis and another passenger, Lance Geier, 23, Ottawa; were taken by helicopter to area hospitals, Fredricks said. The cause of the accident is under investigation, he said.
