PRINCETON — An early morning fire destroyed a house in the 1200 block of Montana Road southeast of Princeton today. The house was engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived, Ottawa Township Fire Chief Rick Sawin said. At that point, firefighters worked to contain the blaze and to save an adjacent garage, which they did, he said. Fifteen firefighters from four rural departments battled battled the blaze. Sawin said it’s too early to determine a cause but he said he hasn’t ruled out lightning. The estimate of the loss is still under way, he said. It’s the second serious house fire in les than a week. A fire destroyed a house in the 3300 block of Ohio Road east of Ottawa late Saturday.
