OTTAWA -The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the Franklin County Sheriffs’s Office. Public Information Officer Jerrod Fredricks said in a phone call with KOFO that the investigation began yesterday, and the department is cooperating fully with the KBI. Fredricks says, because of the timing, the department believes the allegations are politically motivated.
“The department believes no one at the office has committed any crime and the investigation will show that as the case.” Fredricks says. No one at the department has been suspended at this time, and Fredricks has no idea how long the investigation will last. He did not comment on who or what the investigation may involve.
“I have to refrain from releasing too much information so as to not impede the KBI Investigation,” Fredricks said.
