TOPEKA — A state senator from Topeka will return a $500 donation he received from Hallmark because of the company’s decision to close its Topeka plant.
Democrat Anthony Hensley said his wife worked at Hallmark’s Topeka plant for 19 years and he said he won’t accept a campaign contribution from a company that’s leaving Topeka. Hallmark announced it was moving its Topeka operations to plants in Leavenworth and Lawrence. The move is expected to cut about 300 employees.
