SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A local leader of the Kansas agriculture industry could face a slow recovery from injuries he received in a motorcycle accident. The Anderson County Review reports that Jere White’s injuries include a severe brain injury. His family has a Facebook page on White’s condition and they said that he is off a ventilator and is breathing on his own. However, his son, Robert White said his father’s recovery will likely be a long one. Jere White is executive director of the Kansas Corn Growers Association, and the Kansas Grain Sorghum Growers, both based in Garnett. He was injured in a motorcycle wreck in Arkansas Sept. 29. The family had planned to move him from the Springfield, Mo., hospital he is now in to a Kansas City-area hospital but that was delayed because of his medical condition.
