WAVERLY — Two Waverly teenagers were injured as a result of a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon southeast of Waverly. Kendra Henry, 14, was driving a pickup east on 23rd Road when she lost control, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. The truck went off the roadway and over-turned and came to rest in a farm field. Henry was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital Topeka. The highway patrol said she wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Her passenger, Melanie Romig, 14, was listed as having possible injuries but there was no record of her being hospitalized. The highway patrol said she was wearing a seat belt.
