WICHITA — Roy Baker, GIS mapper for Franklin County, received the prestigious Kansas Mapper Award today at a conference of state mappers in Wichita. Baker works in the in the appraiser’s amd has created many maps and illustrations for local cities, rural fire departments, and county departments such as noxious weeds, sheriff, ambulance, public works, planning and zoning, and the appraisers office. Baker was nominated by county appraiser Philip Dudley and Brad Gilges of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
