OTTAWA — Franklin County Historical Society staff will scan photographs of area significance and written memorabilia at the Wellsville City Library Tuesday morning from 10 to noon.  Area residents are invited to bring photos and documents to the library, said Deborah Barker, historical society executive director.  The scanned copies will be added to the historical society’s archives and may appear on its recently expanded website at www.franklincokshistory.org, she said.  In return for sharing their family and business items, owners will receive a disk containing the scanned copies of the images they provide and disks will be offered to the Wellsville Historical Society as well, she said. This is the third such collecting session held at Franklin County libraries and museums this year in conjunction with the society’s 75th anniversary, she said.  . “We’ve already added some great photos to the Website and we’ve put copies on file in the society’s photo collection,” Barker said. Plus, the owners now have a disk of the photos that they may project to a group or share by email with family and friends.” People with documents to be scanned may also arrange to bring them to Franklin County Historical Society’s archives and records center, 1124 W. Seventh St. Terrace, by calling ahead of time by calling 785-242- 1232.
