OTTAWA — Ottawa firefighters responded to a report of a carbon monoxide alarm at a home in the 1600 block of South Chestnut Sunday night. An alarm went off when the furnace came on and the residents called 911, said assistant fire chief Richard Oglesby. Firefighters used monitoring equipment but didn’t detect any carbon monoxide, he said. However, they advised the residents to have their furnace checked by a repair technician, he said.
