KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Chiefs have announced they will start a foundation for Jovan Belcher’s 3-month-old daughter. According to media reports, Kansas City police believe the Chiefs linebacker shot and killed his girlfriend Kassandra Perkins Saturday morning after an argument because she returned home at 1 a.m. from a concert. ABC News reports that although Belcher frequented gun ranges and had several guns at home, friends and people connected with Belcher are mystified because he never had any history of domestic violence or even raising his voice or his temper. They describe him as a very calm, very composed individual and someone on the Chiefs who many people looked up to and because he was such a strong figure on the team. Belcher committed suicide Saturday in the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot in front of Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli after thanking them.
