OTTAWA — Employees at the Ernst-Spencer Powder Paint plant in Ottawa were evacuated because of a smoky fire this morning. A high-temperature oven used daily near the center of the plant caught fire, Ottawa Fire Chief Jeff Carner said. Firefighters spent the morning venting smoke and investigators were still determining the cause of the fire and damage estimates, he said. Carner said he expected employees to return shortly thereafter. There were no injuries, he said.
